The Forgotten Crisis

While our economy is collapsing, Congress is ignoring the will of the people, Obama is taking more of our rights way, and the World is going crazy, there is another crisis that is being overlooked. A crisis that is effecting people's businesses, health, and entire livelihood. A crisis that has been going on for 82 days and has been treated like a joke.

The Gulf oil spill at this moment is spewing oil out at 100% while BP attempts to place a new cap on the hole. This new cap is expected to stop 90% to 100% of the oil from spewing out. Many attempts in the past 82 days have been made to stop the clean and clean up the after math. Many good ideas have been shot down by Congress and Obama because they were not environmentally sound. I guess according to them, oil spewing out is.

These past 82 days have shut down entire businesses and tourism at the hight of their fiscal year. Summer is the biggest time of the year for the Gulf and businesses along the Gulf. But many restaurants and tourist attractions are closed due to no one coming. Fishermen and marina's are out of work because the oil is killing the marina life and ruining their way of life.

This whole situation has been treated like one big joke. While the problem is still at hand, Obama and Congress go after BP and take the very money BP needs to fix and clean this crisis. It's like Congress is investigating a house fire while the house is still burning. They've ignored how to fix the problem and gone straight to getting money out of it. Money that the people effected along the Gulf will never see.

The media has ignored the crisis and only talked about how offshore drilling needs to be stopped and how BP needs to pay. They've ignored that people's livelihoods and health is at stake. Experts are now saying that if a hurricane were to hit, it very well could kill the whole east coast because of the oil it would carry. The people and governments of the Gulf states are begging for help and like many issues brought before the Federal Government, they ignore it.

We can not simply ignore a crisis that will at some point effect all of us. If we don't keep an eye on it now and demand that it be fixed immediately, then we will all suffer.

"They came first for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for me and by that time no one was left to speak up."

If we don't speak up now, this crisis will not and can not be contained. We will not just have the Gulf to fix but the entire country. We can not add another crisis to a country that is facing over spending, corruption, progressivism, and Unconstitutional acts. We must stop this now before it really does get out of hand.
